different soil types, leads to unique grapes everywhere in the Cape Vinelands, which we guide into more unique wines.

Vineyard Facts

Vineyard conditions vary, ranging from altitudes of 90-100m above sea level. Soil type across the board is Oakleaf and Tukulu,

both granite-based and rich in minerality. The vineyards are planted facing east and contribute freshness and acidity. This slope

limits sun exposure to the grapes and lengthens ripening. Southwest-facing vines get more constant sun exposure and hence

enable riper, bolder structure in the grapes.

Winemaking

The grapes are harvested between 4 and 8am, in the coolness of early morning, then rapidly transported to the cellar. After a light

pressing the juice is cooled and settled for three days. Fermentation extends over 2-3 weeks in tanks. The wine is immediately

taken off the lees to preserve the fruit and maximise freshness of flavour
