Montana Mazza
Small cracks and superficial fissures often appear in old furniture and wooden frames over time. Additionally, loose caulking can lead to dust accumulation in floor cracks. The solution to these issues is practical, quick, ecological, and low-cost: Mazza, a water-based acrylic putty with a low odor.
Advantages:
- Easy Application: Mazza is simple to apply, sand, and it dries quickly.
- Versatile Finish Compatibility: It allows for the direct application of finishes such as stains, varnishes, enamels, lacquers, sealers, and leveling primers.
- Color Variety: Available in traditional colors like White, Ivory, Ipê, Mahogany, Cherry, and Imbuia. New colors include Sucupira, Cumaru, Chestnut, Jatobá, Pine Knot, and Treated Wood Green.
- Custom Shades: The colors can be mixed to create different intermediate shades.
Tips and Surface Preparation:
- Surface Condition: Ensure the part or surface is clean, raw, and dry (moisture content below 20%).
- Removing Previous Finishes: Strip old finishes such as paint, wax, and aged paints using Striptizi Gel.
- Sanding: Aged wood should be sanded to restore its original tone and texture. For a fine finish, use sandpaper (280 to 320 grit) in the direction of the wood grain. Clean the piece after sanding to remove dust.
- Application: Mazza is ready to use and should be applied with a spatula or steel trowel in thin layers for quick drying.
- Flooring Joints: In floor joints, the wood must be dry to prevent swelling or cracking of the product.
- Final Finish: Complete the final finish after drying, sanding, and thoroughly cleaning the surface to remove all dust. When finishing with semi-transparent stains or varnishes, use Mazza in the color closest to the surface. Perform a preliminary test on a small, inconspicuous area to evaluate the result.
